With the Lakers’ search just beginning to find a replacement at Frank Vogel, The Athletic indicates that LeBron James would be “very enthusiastic” regarding the idea that Mark Jackson, Warriors coach from 2011 to 2014 and currently a consultant for ESPN, landed the job. Among the main targets of the front office at the moment, there would be the Raptors coach Nick Nurse. Juwan Howard (Michigan) was also cited as a possible candidate.
But how much might this influence the decision of the Lakers? We can ask ourselves the question when we know that the Lakers have not committed Tyronn Read in 2019, nor Jason Kidd followingwards. The two were rumored to be favored by the King, but weren’t hired as head coaches.
Mark Jackson has not coached since his time at the Warriors, but his name circulates fairly regularly in rumors.
