LeBron James: ‘I still hate Boston’

Among the small nuggets of the media day, we had missed one which concerns LeBron James. Sitting around the Spectrum Sports set, the King was asked if there was a player he had hated in the past before liking him as a teammate. A question obviously related to the presence of Patrick Beverley in the Lakers roster this season.

In the King’s response, there was a stray (or totally aimed) ball once morest a franchise with which he often crossed swords in his career: the Boston Celtics.

“There’s three guys I’ve played with that I hated before and loved when I was their teammate. Kendrick Perkins is one of them, when he was playing in Boston. I still hate Boston. Don’t Don’t get me wrong. We still all hate Boston here.”

Even if it was probably a word to amuse the gallery – James Worthy agreed with a ‘Yes we do’ which came from the heart – this hatred of the Celtics is still quite funny on the part of LeBron James. Remember, however, that he is a minority shareholder of the Boston Red Sox, in MLB, via the Fenway Sports Group in which he is an investor and which also owns, among other things, the Liverpool football club.

In a previous chat, LeBron explained that Boston fans are “racist as fuck,” which speaks for itself.

As for the other two players he first hated and then loved as teammates, there’s Patrick Beverley, even though he’s only been in LA for a few weeks and… Lance Stephenson, whom he rubbed shoulders with for a time with the Lakers following their spats during the Miami-Indiana in the 2010s.
