Always eager to help his hometown of Akron, LeBron James announced through his foundation the opening of an apartment complex intended to accommodate low-income families.
Since the opening of his foundation in 2004, LeBron James has always tried to improve the lives of his fellow citizens of Akron, the city where he was born. We have seen this in the past with the creation of a school on site, a medical center for example, and today the King is thinking of housing for families with low resources. Through the program “I Promise Housing“, it is a complex of 50 apartments at reduced prices which will be made available to the citizens of Akron. The accommodations in question will be equipped and some of them have been adapted for people with reduced mobility. Community rooms and fitness rooms will be made available to them.
Present on site for the inauguration, Gloria James, mother of LeBron, recalled her son’s desire to help his fellow citizens but also to embody a model to follow in Akron.
LeBron’s mom participated in today’s ribbon-cutting & held tightly to her slice of ribbon.????
Gloria James said the #IPromiseHousing is a signature achievement for @LJFamFoundation.

“LeBron always says leave the place better than you found it. It’s a way to not only do that, but to inspire all of our families and everyone else to do the same. Today we welcome you home”. – Gloria James
New gesture of great kindness from LBJ, which continues to chain charitable projects in his native Ohio. The years pass but the King does not forget his roots.
