LEBRON James has agreed to a new two-year, $104 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, following previously turning down a one-year, $51.4 million offer.
The contract James agreed to this time includes an option to extend the contract for the 2025-26 season and a no-trade clause.
James is out of contract with the Lakers this summer, and had the option to activate a one-year extension. However, LeBron declined the option and reportedly signed a two-year deal.
The deal brings James back to play for his 22nd NBA season. He also has the option to spend one more season with the Lakers, which would make him a 23rd NBA season.
Given that James remains with the Lakers, he will play alongside his eldest son, Bronny James, who was selected by the Lakers in the second round of the NBA Draft some time ago.
LeBron and Bronny will make history as the father-son duo play on the same team in NBA competition for the first time.

He averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds last season at age 39.
James, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic were the only three players who averaged at least 25 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds in the NBA last season.
However, the Lakers failed to advance past the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs for the fourth time in James’ six seasons with the team.
Before joining the Lakers, James reached the NBA Finals eight straight years with the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, and won at least one playoff series in 13 straight seasons. (Ant/Z-1)
