The founder of Dar Al-Hiwar, journalist Bishara Khairallah, said, “The victory that Hezbollah claims in the Al-Aqsa flood battle cannot be reflected in the battle for the presidency of the republic. The representatives who do not support the arrival of the head of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh, are still themselves and their political opinion has not changed, and they may be fiercer in Defending the first position in Lebanon.
In an interview on “Spotshot” within the “Viewpoint” program, Khairallah said: “The election of the president must occur as a result of a political process under the roof of the Parliament, in which the presidency goes to whoever obtains the required majority.”
He added, “Currently, there are two bitter rivals who belong to the same axis, namely MP Gebran Bassil and former Minister Suleiman Franjieh. Bassil took the initiative and visited Franjieh and they agreed to coordinate between them, but nothing happened. As for Franjieh, he took an initiative towards the army commander, Joseph Aoun, and they coordinated together.” Which means that Hezbollah’s declared presidential candidate established a coordination committee with an undeclared presidential candidate named Joseph Aoun.”
He continued, “I call on Franjieh to withdraw in favor of Aoun so that the crisis is resolved, instead of violating the law and the constitution in order to extend the term of the army commander, especially since Franjieh’s chances are no longer great. No one will repeat the experience of disrupting the country for two years so that in the end the Hezbollah candidate will reach the presidency with what it cost.” That country is expensive.”
Khairallah concluded by saying: “In my estimation, the presidency will not go to one party challenging another party. Minister Franjieh faces the opposition of at least half the country, and General Aoun is not wanted by the other half. It is more likely to go to a third option, as the country has many personalities qualified for this mission.” “.
