Beirut – The Lebanese authorities announced, yesterday, Wednesday, that the death toll from the Israeli aggression had risen to 1,928 dead and 9,290 wounded since October 8, 2023.
The Lebanese government’s Disaster Management Unit said in its daily report that during the last two days, about 134 air strikes and Israeli bombings were recorded on various areas of Lebanon, most of which were concentrated in the south and the Beirut suburb.
She added, “The toll of martyrs and wounded during the past 24 hours reached 55 martyrs and 156 wounded, bringing the total number since October 8 to 1,928 martyrs and 9,290 wounded.”
The unit indicated that “the total number of displaced people has risen to one million and 200 thousand people, including 160 thousand and 200 registered in shelter centers.”
Since October 8, 2023, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, most notably the Lebanese factions, have exchanged daily bombardments with the Israeli army across the dividing “Blue Line,” while these factions are demanding an end to the war that Israel has been waging with American support on the Gaza Strip since October 7, leaving more Of the 138,000 Palestinians killed and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
But since the beginning of last week, the Israeli army has been launching the “most violent, broadest, and most intense” attack on Lebanon since the beginning of the confrontations with the Lebanese factions about a year ago.
