Sharaf al-Din pointed out that “Syria is preparing all the grounds and practical steps for the return of the displaced, and the first batch has been set at 180,000 due to the presence of shelter centers ready and equipped to receive this number directly, in addition to some villages that have delivered their homes from ruin, and the infrastructure has been secured in them in a comprehensive way.” Basic”.

He said that the practical steps start following the visit of the official Lebanese ministerial delegation to Syria, consisting of 8 ministers, the Director General of Public Security and the Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council, in order to “devise a protocol between the two countries concerned with the practical details of the return of the displaced to Syria, and to discuss other files of interest to both sides, Including the issue of facilitating the registration of unregistered Syrians, the issue of postponing the service of education for the displaced in the Syrian state, the possibility of giving a period of time to join and settle the conditions of those left behind, and the issue of the 1,700 Syrian prisoners who wish to complete their sentences in Syria.

Sharaf al-Din continued, “The Syrian government has made promises to look into all the conditions of the displaced, re-employment for those who wish, and the possibility of granting a presidential amnesty that includes all citizens, even those who carried arms, in order to include all the displaced groups, even the Syrian opposition parties wishing to return.”
