Lebanon: Israeli army orders residents to evacuate area in Bekaa Valley

“Urgent warning to the residents of the Bekaa area, especially to the residents of the building marked on the map in the Temnin zone,” Avihai Andrai, a spokesman for the Israeli army, told X.

He stressed that “Hezbollah facilities and interests” located near the building “will be targeted by the defense forces in the near future.”

Meanwhile, the Italian Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, in his intervention in the Senate of Rome, referred today to the situation in the Middle East and in particular to the attacks by Israeli forces against the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, Unifil.

“Italy reiterated that it recognizes Israel’s right to resist and defend itself, when it receives any attack. At the same time, we asked Israel to respect the rules of international law and to protect the civilian population in Gaza and Lebanon – which bears no responsibility – as well as the UN peacekeeping mission,” Crozeto said.

At the same time, always referring to the same topic, he added:

“We continue to work towards a diplomatic solution which, despite all the difficulties, is the only possible one. The Unifil mission must be strengthened and the Lebanese military made more credible. New rules of engagement are needed, with a guarantee that they will be respected. We ask Israel to help us strengthen Unifil and to do, in a peaceful way, what it is doing with weapons.”
