In response to the “provocative” photo that spread, the mayor of Ghobeiry, Maan Khalil, explained in a call to “Lebanon Debate” that “so far he has not received any report on this matter and is under follow-up to reveal the identity of the two young men and the nature of their work, and whether they hold any security status that entitles them to them.” “Behave this way, especially since they are wearing private security uniforms.”
Khalil says: “We are conducting intensive contacts with more than one party to reach the truth of what happened, and we have informed the security authorities of all the data we have in order to investigate the two young men and reveal the reasons that prompted them to carry out this act, especially since the municipality has no connection, neither closely nor remotely.” “With this matter.”
He stresses that “enforcement of the law does not happen in this way, and therefore if everyone wants to apply the law according to what he wants, we do not rule out seeing an execution in the street,” stressing that “it is not permissible for the law of the jungle to replace the state and the law.”
He points out that “just retribution is not applied in this way, but there are judicial bodies specialized in this matter. Therefore, what happened is an unacceptable act because it is not permissible to fulfill the right itself or to defame people, regardless of the perpetrator or the criminal act attributed to him.”
