Sharq – (Beirut):
A Lebanese judicial authority told Al-Sharq, on Tuesday, that the Supreme Judicial Council approved the proposal of Minister of Justice Henry Khoury, to appoint a auxiliary judicial investigator in the file of the Beirut port explosion.
The judicial reference added that the approval came during the council’s meeting, on Tuesday, headed by Judge Suhail Abboud, to appoint a judicial investigator, Radif, until Judge Tariq Bitar was able to return to exercising his role.
Sources close to Bitar also confirmed to Al-Sharq that the decision “sets a dangerous precedent”, and that “it will not recognize any judge appointed in this file, and will take the appropriate action soon.”
