Lebanese National Football Team Prepares for Second Match Against Australia in Asian Qualifiers – Updates from Canberra

NNA – The Lebanese Ambassador to Australia, Milad Raad, received the delegation of the Lebanese national football team, which had arrived in the capital, Canberra, in order to begin its preparations for the second confrontation with the Australian national team next Tuesday, at the “Geo Stadium”, within the fourth round of the ninth group matches of the Asian qualifiers. Double qualification for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup finals.

Ambassador Raad and his family, in addition to members of the Lebanese community, welcomed the national team players and members of the technical and administrative staff, noting in a brief speech: “We are proud of all of you, players and coaches, for what you offer to the country, and my family and I are happy to meet you and visit you.”

Raad thanked the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Football Association, Jihad Al-Shahf, “with whom I contacted directly in order to coordinate this visit, which I value very much, because I know that your time is short and I was hoping that you would stay here for hours.”

Since arriving in Canberra following a four-hour road trip, the Lebanese national team began launching its preparation program for the second match in a row with Australia, and the players were divided in the training sessions into two groups according to whether or not they participated in the first minutes of the match.

The technical staff worked to review the most prominent events that our team faced in the first match, with the aim of informing the players of the positives and negatives, in the hope of achieving a positive result following the “Cedar Men” showed a good level, especially in the second half, as they threatened the home team’s goal on more than one occasion, but without They succeeded in scoring following bad luck and the brilliance of Australian goalkeeper Matthew Ryan.
