Beirut – “Al Quds Al Arabi”: A security problem erupted in the Baalbek area when a number of citizens from the Al Rabah clan attempted to storm the barracks of the Sixth Infantry Brigade of the Lebanese Army in response to the army’s firing of a circumstantial checkpoint at a car in which a person from the Rabah family was traveling without license plates. Compliance with the soldiers’ orders to stop, forcing them to shoot in the air and then in the direction of the car, where it was hit, veered off its lane and hit an electric pole, killing its driver.
A circulating video showed a gathering of cars and citizens in front of the concrete barriers of the barracks, and the sound of gunfire was heard in the ocean.
A number of citizens from the Rabah family gathered in front of the army barracks in the town of Shaath in Baalbek, during the funeral of the university youth Gabi Hassan Rabah, who shot him when he passed a checkpoint in front of the barracks under the pretext of not complying with the checkpoint, which led to his death.
