Lebanese mourners from the Rabah family tried to storm an army barracks in Baalbek – (video)

Beirut – “Al Quds Al Arabi”: A security problem erupted in the Baalbek area when a number of citizens from the Al Rabah clan attempted to storm the barracks of the Sixth Infantry Brigade of the Lebanese Army in response to the army’s firing of a circumstantial checkpoint at a car in which a person from the Rabah family was traveling without license plates. Compliance with the soldiers’ orders to stop, forcing them to shoot in the air and then in the direction of the car, where it was hit, veered off its lane and hit an electric pole, killing its driver.

A circulating video showed a gathering of cars and citizens in front of the concrete barriers of the barracks, and the sound of gunfire was heard in the ocean.

Subsequently, the Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: “On March 13, 2022, during the funeral of the young man Gabi Rabah in the town of Sha’at – Bekaa, a number of mourners shot in the air during the protest in front of the army center in the area, forcing the soldiers to Shooting in the air to disperse them and prevent them from entering.”
