Lebanese media sources confirmed to Al-Modon that “the person arrested by the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces on suspicion of contact with Israel is Haitham Muzahim, who used to work for Al-Mayadeen channel and a number of other Lebanese and international media outlets before his arrest.”

The information had spoken a few days ago regarding the arrest of a Lebanese man at the Information Division for interrogation on suspicion of dealing with Israel, and his name was not revealed, pending the completion of the investigation with him and the completion of the technical and security investigation file, and his referral to the military judiciary for prosecution.

The sources revealed that the arrested person is “H. Muzahim”, and he was arrested regarding 25 days ago with a signal from the judiciary, and said: “The investigation is still ongoing, but it has been proven that his contacts began in 2018, leaving the other procedures for the judiciary when the file is referred to him.”

Muzahem has been working in the media for more than twenty years, and has worked for more than one media outlet, including Al-Mustaqbal newspaper, Arab newspapers, magazines, and foreign media websites. He also worked as a researcher in Israeli studies and presented research papers on political affairs and international crises.

As soon as he was arrested, the “Al-Mayadeen” website deleted all writings and contributions in his name from the site, so that searching for his name would lead to a “404 error”, while his name is still present in other media outlets, including the “Greater Lebanon” website and centers for foreign and Arab studies.
