The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, commented on the ratification of the law extending the term of the army commander and the leaders of the security services for a year, saying, “My conscience is relatively clear following the extension of the army commander and the director general of the internal security forces, and I can say, ‘We have completely cut off,’” noting that “The opposition group wanted to put their affairs in order and began to manipulate the leadership of the army and security forces. What we did was not once morest anyone, and most of what we did was our duty towards our country, our army, and our people.”

He pointed out, in a statement on MTV, that “some people in Lebanon believe that the world revolves around them, and if something happens, it is either with them or once morest them, and what we did was for the sake of our country.”

In addition, he pointed out that the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, “this time is the same situation,” even though he “put 18 laws on our backs, as we were and still are once morest legislation in the absence of a President of the Republic,” explaining that “if Nabih Berri wants to complete his favor, he must call A parliamentary session to elect a new President of the Republic.

Geagea considered that many things had “overtaken” the country, with the exception of “the army institution and the internal security forces. Our main concern is for the institution to remain stable and continuous, and this is what prompted us to proceed with the extension, and we congratulate everyone on this achievement.”
