Learn what to do if you still get the Windows blue screen after Microsoft crashed

Although the computer failure that affected hundreds of companies around the world has already been addressed, some services still maintain the Windows blue screen on their devices. However, the technical community is looking for solutions for the so-called “blue screen of death“.

Steps to fix Windows “blue screen of death”

  • Start Windows in Safe Mode: Boot the operating system in safe mode, which should allow unblocked access.
  • Accessing the CrowdStrike Folder: Once in Safe Mode, head to File Explorer and navigate to the C:WindowsSystem32driversCrowdStrike folder.
  • Delete the Problematic File: Look for the file named C-00000291.sys*. When you find it, delete it.
  • Restart your computer: Restart your computer normally to see if the problem is resolved.

The company is currently working on a fix to stabilise the missing affected devices. To do so, they are distributing a bug-fixing file.
