Many may be unaware that they can hide and unhide songs on Spotify, and because old versions of the application may not have this feature, the user must install the latest version from the Play Store or Apple.
Here’s how to hide and unhide songs on Spotify, as reported by the Indian Express:
How to Hide Songs on Spotify
Hiding songs on Spotify is relatively easy, just follow these easy steps:
– Find the song you want to hide in the album or playlist you are listening to. You can do this by searching for the song title and pressing the radio button (three small circles to the right of the title). You can then select “View album”. And you can search for the album title if you know it.
If the song is in a playlist, you can find it by searching for the name of the playlist (such as “The Indie List” or “Classic Acoustic”) and scrolling through to find it.
It’s important to remember that this only works for a playlist you didn’t create. If you no longer want to play a song in your custom playlist, simply delete it.
Once you locate the song in the album or playlist, press the radio button. In the menu that appears next, the second option down will allow you to “Hide this song.” After you select it, the title should turn gray, and you can continue listening to your album or playlist without it.
How to show songs on Spotify
You may first need to go to the options menu on your Spotify home screen (small cog in the top right corner of your app) and allow the app to “Show unplayable songs” under the “Playing” subtitle.
Once this is done, you can proceed simply by reversing the above process.
– Find the song in the album or playlist where you want to restore it either by searching for the album/playlist name or searching for the song title and using the “View album” option detailed above.
– Once you find the song in the playlist, you will notice that there is a small “No Entry” sign next to its title which appears in grey. Press this, and the song will be played back.
