Learn about traffic diversions before closing the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road completely

The Traffic Department has determined alternative roads and diversions before closing the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road in the direction (coming from the bottom of the Ring Road to Al-Ramayah Square), starting from 6 am tomorrow, Friday, until July 30, to implement the construction of the “Great Museum” metro station. Amid the presence of services to follow the movement of cars.

Traffic diversions included:

First: Vehicles coming through the Cairo-Alexandria desert road from the areas of (Al-Waha – New Giza), and wishing to walk in the direction of (Al-Remaya Square – Fayoum Road – Al-Ahram Street – King Faisal Street) ascend the top of the ring road in the direction leading to the Mansourieh area and then descend from The house of the ring road that leads to Mansourieh Road and continues to the Kufra Nassar area.

From Kufrat Nassar:

1- Vehicles wishing to drive towards King Faisal Street, ascend the newly developed Kufra Nassar Bridge and continue traveling until the bottom of the Mishaal Bridge, then turn around and return in the direction of King Faisal Street.

2- Vehicles wishing to walk towards the Remaya Square and Fayoum Road, travel on the newly developed Kafra Nassar Bridge flat, then go right from the bottom of the bridge towards the Remaya Square, Fayoum Road, and Al-Ahram Street.

Second: The movement of vehicles coming from the ring road through the house leading to the shooting range and wishing to walk towards Fayoum Road and Al-Ahram Street, follow the following path:

Walk 150 meters on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road, then turn, and return through a turning hole that was created in the area facing the Grand Egyptian Museum, then turn around, return to the Alexandria Desert Road once more, then walk right towards the bottom of the ring road (Gataty area), and continue walking until it intersects with Mansourieh Road, then walk right “obligatory” on the newly developed Mansouriya Road to reach the Kufra Nassar area and enter right towards Al Remaya Square and Fayoum Road.

The works are carried out within the framework of the coordination procedures for the completion of the delivery of (the second phase) of the construction site of the “Grand Museum” metro station on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road in the area facing the Grand Egyptian Museum within the fourth line metro stations project following handing over the first phase of the subway stations sites (Tree Gardens – Al-Ahram Gardens – Al-Nasr – the Great Museum – Shooting Square – Al-Ahram – Mariouteya – Al-Arish – the printing press – Talbieh – Madkour) and the request of the National Authority for Tunnels and the Arab Contractors Company executing the project to receive the second phase of the work site of the Grand Museum station on the Alexandria Desert Road, with a length of regarding 380 meters and a width of approximately 18 meters.

A total closure of the Alexandria Desert Road is required in the direction coming from the bottom of the ring road towards the Remaya Square, specifically starting from the area facing the Grand Egyptian Museum (following the 150-meter-long house of the ring road leading to the Remaya Square) to the area facing the Steigen Burger Hotel, starting from 6 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, until the morning of Saturday, July 30th.
