Learn about the reasons for excluding Al-Naqbi before the Australia summit

The technical staff of our UAE national team, led by Rodolfo Arruabarina, was forced to exclude Abdullah Al-Naqbi, the star of his midfield, before arriving as guests of Doha.

And the Qatari capital will witness the signing of the Asian qualifying match for the 2022 World Cup between our UAE team and its Australian counterpart.

The victor of the match will clash with Peru, the fifth South American qualifier, in the international playoffs.

Yasser Salem, director of our UAE national team, had revealed in previous statements that Al-Naqbi is undergoing a rehabilitation program to recover from injury.

Salem noted that the star of Al-Ahly youth (the Red Knights) “has shown great progress in recovery… and it is expected that he will reach his full readiness before the decisive confrontation once morest Australia.”

However, Arruabarina’s decision came to exclude Al-Naqbi before traveling to Doha.

And it became clear that the 29-year-old needed to undergo surgical intervention to recover from the injury, in coordination between the UAE national team and his club.

It has not yet been revealed when Al-Naqbi will return to the stadiums, and whether he will be ready with the start of the 2022-2023 season in September.
