Lear to lay off 50 people in San Francisco due to production crisis – Radio Station

Lear, one of the main sources of employment in our city, is planning to cut staff that will affect between 40 and 55 workers.

This decision is due to the decrease in production of the Fiat Cronos model, which has forced the company to adjust its production.

The slowdown in the automotive industry led the North American multinational to decide to take this measure. In this plant, the company produces automotive electrical distribution systems for the Cronos model from Stellantis (Fiat) and for the Frontier pick up from Nissan. Both terminals are based in the city of Córdoba.

Stellantis currently produces 360 units of the Cronos per day, but from next week until the end of the year, according to sources in the auto parts sector who spoke to Cadena 3, it will reduce the production rate to 290. That is, 70 fewer units per day.

This situation led Lear to decide to lay off between 40 and 55 employees, most of them temporary. A significant number of the almost 800 employees they have on staff.
