Leão Chiminhi points out strategies for success in the World Cup qualifiers – Jornal OPaís

The vice-president of the board of the general assembly of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), Leão Chiminhi, stated, last Friday, that the timely planning of actions, the organization of an effective system for awarding prizes to players and coaches, and the reformulation of working methods will be decisive in the Palancas Negras’ qualification phase for the African Nations Championship (CAN), in the Kingdom of Morocco, in 2025, as well as for the World Championship, which will take place in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada, in 2026.

However, he made a point of warning that the achievement of this objective will depend on close collaboration between the governing bodies of the sport in the country, as well as public and private institutions.

For Leão Chiminhi, it is necessary to encourage the participation of private institutions, explaining that, with honorable exception, they have shown a certain shyness in supporting the National Team.

Additionally, the leader appealed to the president of the Angolan Federation of the sport, Artur Almeida e Silva, for the need to promote the culture of ethics, transparency and permanent dialogue with the makers of the sport, focusing on building an organization solid, of a strong National Team, winning and respected by everyone in the continental and world football context.

It should be noted that Leão Chiminhi was speaking during the ordinary general assembly of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) which took place in the province of Uíge.

The meeting with the “national football family” also discussed the activities carried out by the federation in the 2022 and 2023 financial years, without neglecting the financial situation of the clubs.
