Leanne Browne (née Hughes) – A Life Remembered

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leanne Browne (née Hughes), a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Leanne passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. Her loss has left an emptiness in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Beloved Family Matriarch

Leanne was the cherished wife of Ciaran and a devoted mother to Jodie, Luke (Nikita), Conor, and Ryan. Her children were the center of her world, and she showered them with unconditional love and support. As a daughter to Josie and Fintan, and a cherished sister to Louise (Christopher) and Jenny (Simon), Leanne’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of her entire family. “Queen of The Most Holy Rosary Pray For Her.” read a tribute remembering Leanne’s strong faith which guided her throughout life.

Known for her warm smile and compassionate heart, Leanne made everyone feel welcome and loved. Her ability to forge deep connections and build lasting relationships was a testament to her genuine and caring nature.

Remembering a Soul Gone Too Soon

Leanne’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled. Her absence will be deeply felt by her husband, children, parents, sisters, father-in-law Jim, mother-in-law Sally, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and countless friends.

Reposing at her home on Friday, November 29th, from 7pm, Leanne’s neighbours and friends gathered to offer their condolences and support to the grieving family. On Sunday, December 1st, her funeral cortege departed from her home at 10:15 am for Requiem Mass at the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar, at 11am. Following the mass, interment took place in Drumboe cemetery, marking the end of her earthly journey.

A Lasting Legacy

For those who wish to honor Leanne’s memory, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Oncology/Hematology Ward at Letterkenny Hospital. Donations can be arranged through any family member.

In keeping with the family’s wish for privacy during this difficult time, the house remained strictly private to family and close friends. While Leanne’s physical presence may be gone, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind. Her memory will be cherished forever, a testament to a life lived with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
