More news stemming from this week’s Nintendo Switch Online leak has come out: information regarding unreleased NES titles has now surfaced.
Much has been said regarding emulators for Game Boy and Game Boy Color as well as for the Game Boy Advance. However, the same leak has also been discovered to contain a different version of the NES app, which has all currently available titles plus those not currently live. Pac-Man, Tetris, Galaga, Mega Man and Castlevania are among them. Interestingly, the build date of the app is October 2019. As pointed out by Twitter user orcastraw, most of the games in the leak correspond to what has officially rolled out so far. . That being said, there is no guarantee that new ones here will be offered officially in the future. orcastraw also points out that not all titles in the leak are at the same stage of work. Mega Man has an SP version and description, but others, like Galaga, only have placeholders.
Here’s a more detailed look at what was uncovered:
The leaked application has a build-date of October 2019, and the games being rolled out officially have mostly lined up with what’s in the leaked application, so it would appear that the plans for releases were set up far in advance, and this shows what they might release. pic.twitter.com/uXkkyjKVRz
