Leak reveals Amazon’s future Kindle – Mac4Ever

According to a leak mistakenly published by a Spanish retailer, Amazon is preparing to launch its new 12th generation Kindle. Expected for September 30, this entry-level e-reader should offer some notable improvements, including a brighter screen and a lighter design. Here’s what you need to know about this new version.

A brighter and more contrasting screen

The 12th Generation Kindle will feature a six-inch display with a resolution of 300 ppioffering improved contrast compared to its predecessors. The most notable new feature is the 25% increase in brightness compared to the previous model, which should make reading more comfortable in various light conditions. On the other hand, no information has been communicated regarding the integration of warm lighting to make reading less tiring in the evening.

Improved performance but limited features

Along with its brighter screen, the new Kindle should also be a bit faster, with faster page turns and a dark mode for more comfortable nighttime reading. However, it seems that this entry-level version does not integrate the E Ink Carta 1200 display.which was introduced on the 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite in 2021. This is something to be confirmed, but it would be quite disappointing.

A lighter design and new colours

The new e-reader would also be a little lighter, with a weight of 154 grams compared to 158 grams for the previous model. It will be available in two colors: classic black and a new matcha green shade. In terms of connectivity, the 12th generation Kindle will include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a USB-C port (phew). Its storage capacity remains at 16GB, which is enough for a medium-sized digital library, and the battery life is announced at eight weeks.

No major changes since version 11 No major changes since version 11

A price that is always competitive

The 12th generation Kindle is currently listed for €119 on the website of Spanish retailer MediaMarkt. However, it is not specified whether this rate includes screensaver ads.. If Amazon maintains this strategy of offering two prices, with or without advertising, the price of the new e-reader could therefore vary depending on this.

This new 12th generation Kindle therefore brings some notable improvements, such as a brighter screen and a lighter design, but remains faithful to its entry-level range. If it does not offer revolutionary features, it should still satisfy readers looking for a simple and effective e-reader, at a reasonable price. We are waiting for the official announcement to confirm all this!
