On Wednesday, the volunteers of the League once morest Cancer met in an extraordinary general meeting in the presence of the president, Anne-Marie Mercier, the administrators and the coordinator of the association in order to vote on the purchase of a new premises located towards Puy-en-Velay station and the sale of the current premises located at 12 avenue Clément-Charbonnier.

Created in 1985 in Puy-en-Velay, the Haute-Loire committee moved into its current premises in 1991.

A welcome in good conditions

Concerning the activity, since last January, workshops have been set up: coffee or chat walk, sophrology, time for yourself, self-massage, cooking, support group. It is clear that the premises are too small to accommodate patients in good conditions, and to offer them the best welcome when they wish to speak. Above all, it was the comfort and well-being of patients and their loved ones that decided the League to look for larger, more functional and more welcoming premises. The move to the new premises will be effective from May 1.

Next meeting with the public, the “Côlon tour” Thursday March 14. This is an operation for prevention, information and awareness of organized screening for colorectal cancer.

The approach is fun and educational, the key element of this operation being the inflatable structure of a giant colon. The location remains to be determined.
