| Leaf span 10 feet; Huge amber found, no one noticed, for 177 years…

London: The world’s largest ampelum has been found in London’s Kew Botanical Garden. It was following 177 years that the uniqueness of this amber was realized. Then the name was given – Victoria Boliviana.

People had already noticed the unusual size of the amber in the queue. However, it is only recently that the attention of the researchers is caught. At first it was thought that amber in Kew was a combination of two amber varieties. It was later identified as the new amber variety.

Victoria boliviana ampel has a leaf circumference of 10 feet. The flower can be bigger than human head. Large leaves have a special mechanism to prevent water from accumulating. The lower portion of the pot-like leaves is arranged for this purpose.

The leaves can support a weight of up to 80 kg. Researchers say that this ampulinum is from Bolivia. Named following Bolivia and Queen Victoria. Scientists have also discovered a close relative of Victoria boliviana. The name is V cruciana. It is indicated that these were special classes regarding 10 lakh years ago.
