I’m a big fan of portable gaming, and for that I love mobile controllers, especially for playing games on Apple Arcade, Xbox Game Pass on the cloud or even in remote play of my PlayStation 5. I was able to test for you another controller made for iPhone, the M1B from Leadjoy.

If you missed it, here is my unboxing of the Leadjoy M1B:
Quickly, you will notice that the LeadJoy M1B is similar in size and design to the Backbone, but that does not make it a copy. cheap, far from there. In terms of strength and design, they are in the same category. The Backbone remains a little thinner and lighter, but the M1B’s grip is pleasant.
That said, the LeadJoy is more affordable at $99 right now on Amazon, while the Backbone is $139.
One thing I also appreciate: the buttons are silent. Nothing is more annoying than hearing a constant clack clack clack or click click click when playing action games, which happens especially with the Razer Kishi controller.
The M1B has a lightning port, which allows you to charge while playing or you can simply leave it to charge without having to remove the phone from the controller.
It is plug and play, it is not necessary to install any app for the operation of the gamepad. I tested it with Apple Arcade mobile games, Xbox Game Pass coud, as well as PlayStation remote play which is available on PS4 and PS5. The controls respond well and I didn’t notice any latency except in cloud gaming, which is to be expected as it depends on the stability of the internet connection.
As is the case with all controllers of its kind, it will be necessary to use the touch screen to operate the Touchpad button of the DualSense of the PS5.
The LeadJoy is definitely an excellent controller for iPhone, comfortable, solid and affordable.
Note that the LeadJoy is compatible with iOS 13 and newer.
