The two – accused of complicity in corruption – were both arrested red-handed: Iorio was stopped while pocketing a bribe of 15 thousand euros from the entrepreneur. The manager is under house arrest and, as part of the preliminary investigation before the prosecutors, explained that he had received the “black money” as part of a relationship that had been going on for some time. The entrepreneur instead exercised the right not to respond. The prosecutors of the public administration pool asked the investigating judge to validate the arrests with the issuing of a precautionary measure. The hearing will be scheduled in the next 48 hours.

Under the magnifying glass of the prosecutors of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rome, a “large amount of documents and data” which are being examined by the Guardia di Finanza. Yesterday, during the searches for the investigation of corruption and bid rigging in the context of IT procurement at Sogei, Andrea Stroppa, Elon Musk’s representative in Italy, was also searched and investigated, from whom cell phones were seized and PC. Stroppa is under investigation for complicity in corruption for having received a “confidential” Farnesina document from a Navy vessel captain.
