Best known for household appliances, Sharp clearly wants to establish itself in the mobility sector in urban areas. At IFA 2023, the brand presented several prototypes of electric bicycles. One of them will soon be marketed: the Sharp Milano (BK-RS08E).

Its geometry promotes quite sporty driving, implying a pleasant posture. Agility and dynamism are also part of this experience

And LCD screen color has also been integrated into the handlebars to signal its speed and level of assistance. Although Sharp won’t provide many details, this bike should be compatible with the Sharp Life app. The latter makes it possible to consult the level of charge of the battery, to follow the route of the bike and to control the digital anti-theft system.

The Sharp Milano will be available in spring 2023. The matte black model costs €2,499 against €2,599 for the silver model.

High-end features

On the technical side, the Sharp Milano electric bike incorporates a powerful 250 W electric motor. This is combined with a system for measuring the cadence of pedaling, also called rotation sensor. It provides smooth acceleration to reach a maximum assisted speed of 25 km/h. Thanks to its 5 levels of assistance, each cyclist can adapt their experience according to their needs.

The state-of-the-art battery covers a maximum range of 80 kilometers. Enough to approach long journeys without worry. Moreover, it takes 2 to 3 hours to fully charge the bike, which is an excellent point, just like the hydraulic disc brake system. Other goodies include 28-inch Kenda tires and Selle Royale.

The Milano benefits from a light and strong carbon transmission belt from Gates Belt Drive CDN. This rear transmission ensures optimal traction on slopes and facilitates passage on pavements.
