Already in 2020, some had put forward the idea of creating an associative bar in order to gather, to strengthen ties, not to isolate themselves. Unfortunately, at the time the idea had not received support.
Time passed and reality took over; at the end of 2022 an association was created, Le Virolot, created by young people from Vire and its surroundings to meet in friendly conditions around a strong point of the identity of Vire-sur-Lot, the vineyard. Their goal is also to honor the richness of Cahors wine, from the winegrowers of the region.
After long negotiations, the association was able to open on Friday April 21 despite restrictions.
The association works with regarding ten young people, for the moment, the associative bar will be open once a month, the time to get organized and set up. Anyone who wishes can participate in keeping Le Virolot alive with an annual fee of €10; many have already registered.
April 21, a spring evening for this premiere, exceeded expectations. Without much publicity, there were many people happy to meet in friendly conditions to share moments of exchange, without any need for strong alcohol.
The bet of these young people was met and it is certain that on May 26 (save the date) for the second opening many people are already expected in the village hall.
