It was the one more thing of Summer Game Fest 2023, namely the new gameplay trailer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the sequel to the FINAL FANTASY VII remake released in 2020. The opportunity to leave the industrial environments of Midgar and finally discover this rich and lush open world teased for some time. Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Red XIII are back after fleeing Midgar, and together they will go in search of Sephiroth. Like Final Fantasy XVI, the game will be a PS5 exclusive, in order to take full advantage of the machine’s capabilities. Everything is there to seduce fans of the license and J-RPG, with fabulous landscapes, a viewing distance that makes you dream, ultra-punchy confrontations, heroic-looking protagonists, but also Chocobos. Lots of memories that obviously emerge, although the perspective has changed markedly since the game released in 1997 on PS1. No release date yet, just a vague beginning of 2024, but enough to make us dream, especially since we learned that this Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will fit on two discs.
