Le Havre, currently 7th in Ligue 1, is on the verge of making a big move on the transfer market with the signing of André Ayew, free of any contract. He should be presented this Saturday before the match once morest Monaco.
It’s an interesting bet. And quite unexpected. Free from any contract, André Ayew will become a new player for Le Havre. At the age of 33, the Ghanaian international with 115 caps is preparing to sign for the promoted team.
It should be presented quickly, probably this Saturday evening to the public at the Océane stadium, before the reception of Monaco on the occasion of the 12th day of Ligue 1 (9 p.m.). A reinforcement of experience for Luka Elsner’s team, which is having a solid start to the season with already 14 points on the clock.
A return to France following his notable stint at OM
Trained and revealed in Marseille, Ayew was notably vice-champion of France in 2011 and 2013. Double winner of the Coupe de la Ligue (2011, 2012) and the Champions Trophy (2010, 2011), he left the club free in 2015 to join Swansea and the Premier League.
He then played at West Ham, before returning to Swansea. Having also passed through Turkey (Fenerbahçe) and Qatar (Al-Sadd), he therefore had his last experience at Nottingham Forest between February and July 2023. Despite reduced playing time, he played 13 championship matches and participated to maintain the club.
The most capped player in the Ghanaian selection, Ayew is keeping the next African Cup of Nations in his sights, which will be played in Ivory Coast in early 2024. The Black Stars will face Mozambique, Cape Verde and Egypt.
