ONE of the land logistics transportation business players who is also the President Director of PT Lazuardo Logistic Indonesia Purnomo fully supports the government’s efforts to encourage digital transformation, the use of multimodal single tariffs, optimization of sea toll routes, and strengthening connectivity by establishing hubs and spokes, as well as increasing accessibility between regions to advance the logistics industry through the national logistics system (sislognas).
According to Purnomo, strengthening the national logistics system can be achieved through a program to strengthen the national logistics ecosystem, a program to strengthen infrastructure and connectivity, a program to increase the competitiveness of human resources and logistics service providers, and a program to transform digital logistics services.
Currently, Indonesia’s industry 4.0 readiness is still at level 2, so it is necessary to develop logistics human resources that consider user needs, body of knowledge, and KKNI.
Logistics governance has challenges in the diversity of actors who play a role in the logistics process and each has its own standards regarding how the logistics process should be carried out.
“Various innovation efforts to improve logistics performance in Indonesia have been carried out, only this change occurs in a partial sector and is not fast and precise. It takes comprehensive, fast, and precise changes to improve logistics performance in Indonesia so that it can have a significant impact on market arrangements,” he explained.
Purnomo added that the current condition requires sharing of perceptions from various stakeholders, such as regulators, business actors, consultants, and academics. It is hoped that events in the form of discussions will often be held involving all components. That way, various challenges and opportunities will be revealed, especially regarding logistics transportation and the national logistics system in general.

One of the issues that can be obtained later is national logistics, which currently the preferred mode of transportation is land. For example, Jakarta-Surabaya 800 km. The choice of 90 percent is land, sea is only 9 percent. Therefore, through seminars or discussion forums, all stakeholders can be invited to find a dialogical solution, an effort to find a joint solution.
The national logistics issue is recognized as an urgent problem that must undergo significant improvement, to support more optimistic economic growth. Providing certainty of equitable development and ensuring the involvement of logistics industry business actors that are more optimal in the international supply chain.
Purnomo also hopes that the government will find efforts that can be a leap for reducing logistics costs, while at the same time ensuring equitable development. (Z-6)
