Lazio – Milan: Milan beat Lazio with a goal from Okafor in the 88th minute… and the Romans finished with eight!

Milan won in Rome (0-1) in a very tight match… and very hot. Okafor decided in the 88th minute following several hands from Provedel in a match in which Lazio finished with eight following having three sent off (Pellegrini, Guendouzi and Marusic). Lazio, thinking regarding Bayern and the Champions League… but missing the top-4 train.

The first part was unforgettable. A Lazio that started better and had the clearest chance at eight to start with Matías Vecino. A shot following a corner kick that went just wide. It was the clearest… until 45! Pulisic starred in a shot from the edge of the area that Provedel took.

But everything was blown up with a very controversial play that broke the game. The referee had called a previous foul in favor of Lazio… but Pellegrini and Pulisic continued the play on their own. The Roman full-back grabbed the American and prevented him from going towards the rival area. All with the game already stopped. The referee showed the second yellow card to the Lazio player and sent him off. There was a brawl at the Olympic Stadium and several minutes with the game stopped.

From there, Milan dominated and Provedel had more work. Lazio, dedicated to the counterattack and also thinking regarding the Champions League and Bayern, had a clear chance between Isaksen and Provedel. But the one that struck, finally, was Milan. Okafor would score following Leao, minutes before, had a goal disallowed for offside.

In the 94th minute, Lazio lost Marusic due to a direct red card following a violent play, as determined by the referee… and moments later Guendouzi was sent off. The match had gotten out of hand for the referee. The match was decided and Milan added three important points that consolidated it in the ‘Champions zone’.
