Lazio – Juventus 2:1 (1:0). A defeat without consequences, Milik’s goal gives the final result

Juventus loses to Lazio in Rome, but will advance to the Coppa Italia final! The Bianconeri were losing 0-2 until the 83rd minute following Castellanos’ double and it was regarding to go to overtime, but then the result of the two-legged match was decided by Milik, who put the ball into the net following Weah’s pass.

The hosts took the lead already in the 12th minute – Alberto delivered an accurate cross to the head of Castellanos, who was easily defeated by Alex Sandro, and the Argentine gave Perin no chance with an accurate header. The Bianconeri responded with good action by Rabiot and Chiesa, following which Vlahović hit the ball dirty, allowing Mandas to intervene. Bremer then had his opportunity, as his header from a corner kick flew over the goal. Before the break, Lazio had a great opportunity to double their lead when, following Danilo’s mistake, Castellanos faced Perin – this time, the Juve goalkeeper was unscathed.

What didn’t work before the break, happened a few minutes following it ended – this time Castellanos made no mistake when he went one-on-one following Alberto’s pass. On the other side, Marusić made a great intervention to stop Vlahovic from pushing the ball into the empty net following McKennie’s kick. A moment later, another clear opportunity was wasted by Castellanos, who, standing face to face with Perin, made an unsuccessful attempt to overthrow the goalkeeper. In the following minutes, Weah, Milik and Yildiz appeared on the pitch, and in the 83rd minute the first two gave Juventus the desired goal – the Pole caught the ball sent by the American and placed it into the empty goal from close range. The last minutes saw Juve successfully defend the score and Lazio’s clumsy attempts.

Juventus performed disappointingly today, but they are in the final of the Coppa Italia. The Bianconeri will meet their rival tomorrow evening – Atalanta and Fiorentina will face each other in the second semi-final. Another league match on Saturday – Milan will come to Turin.
