The hiring of a new lawyer to assume his defense motivated yesterday the judge of the Sixth Investigation Court of the National District to postpone until the next September 22 in progress the mandatory review of the coercion measure that was imposed on Miguel Cruz de la Mota for the death of the former Minister of the Environment Orlando Jorge Mera.
Cruz de la Mota, who is in preventive detention for a year in the Najayo prison, San Cristóbal, hired as a new lawyer John Amador Gonzalezfollowing differences arose between him and the jurists Manny Sierra and Ybo Renewho initially represented him.

The differences
According to Sierra, the differences of opinion between them, the defendant and some of his relatives, had to do with the face case management to the trial that will be known to de la Cruz Mota; and also in front of the media.
“We understood that the case should always be treated with objectivity, different from how the client wanted it to be handled; in addition to the issues of professional fees on which we did not agree either, “said Sierra.
Yesterday, three months into his preventive detention and in accordance with the norm, a review of it was mandatory and Cruz de la Mota would ensure that the preventive detention imposed on him be changed to a less burdensome measure.
He is accused of shooting to death the late official and his best friend in his office at the Ministry of Environmentin an event that occurred on June 6 of the current year, in the morning hours, where the perpetrator showed up armed and made a previous scandal with the security.
