(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Mi-ryeong = A lawyer who served as an administrative officer in the presidential office is under investigation by the police for abandoning a vehicle and fleeing following causing a car accident.
According to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, on the 9th at 11:05 am, a contact accident occurred between Mr. A’s Porsche and Mr. B’s Mercedes car in Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Mr. A left the vehicle at the scene and left.
As a result of integrating CC (closed circuit) TV footage, witness statements, and vehicle registration, the police believe that lawyer A, a family member of the Porsche owner, was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
In 2012, Mr. A was fined for drunk driving. He most recently served as an administrator for the Office of the President.
A police official said, “We plan to investigate Mr. A on charges of not taking action following an accident under the Road Traffic Act.”
