Law 60/90: US$ 160 million in investments and more than 1,000 jobs by the end of June

Asuncion, IP Agency.- According to the report from the Vice Ministry of Industry, the projected investments accumulated through June under this incentive regime amounted to more than 168 million dollars. This represents an increase of 7% compared to the same period last year. The jobs linked to these investments exceeded 1,096 positions.

Of the total investments projected for the first half of the year, 55% are of national origin, reflecting increasing stability. Investments from abroad amount to approximately USD 75 million.

The number of jobs linked to these investments exceeded 1,096, with 82% concentrated in Central, Alto Paraná and Caazapá.

In addition, 57% of the new jobs created by the end of June were concentrated mainly in the plastics and manufacturing sectors, grain and seed production and storage, and pharmaceutical chemical products.

Regarding the location of these investments, the report highlights that 92% are located in the departments of Central, Alto Paraná, Paraguarí, Canindeyú and Capital, these being areas with the highest number of investments in recent years.

The report notes that in June 2024 alone, investments under Law 60/90 totaled USD 11.6 million. In addition, seven new projects were approved, generating 108 jobs in the country.

Of these new investment projects, more than 90% were concentrated in the grain and seed production and storage sectors, with 74%; followed by the plastics and their manufactures, with 24%, while the remaining 2% are in the chemical and pharmaceutical products sector. In other words, 98% of the investments were directed to the secondary sector, while the remaining 2% were divided between the primary and tertiary sectors.
