Lavrov urges NATO to stop arming Ukraine | The World | D.W.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on NATO and the United States to stop sending weapons to kyiv if they are really interested in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, according to an interview published this Saturday (04.30.2022) by Chinese state media.

In the interview published by the official Chinese news agency Xinhua, Lavrov stated that the Russian offensive in Ukraine is proceeding “according to plan.”

“A continuous flow of weapons of all kinds enters Ukraine through Poland and other NATO countries,” Lavrov said.

“If the United States and NATO are really interested in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, the first thing they should do is wake up and stop sending arms and ammunition to the kyiv regime,” added the Russian chief diplomat.

Some 40 countries met in Germany on Tuesday to coordinate an acceleration of supplies of military equipment claimed by kyiv.

The United States and Ukraine say that there have been delays in the Russian offensive in Donbas, whose total conquest has become a priority for Moscow, but Lavrov maintained that Russian advances are going as planned.

“The special military operation that started on February 24 is proceeding in strict accordance with the plan. All the objectives of the special military operation will be achieved despite the obstruction of our adversaries,” he said.
