On September 14, the Turkish newspaper Aydinlik reported that it had footage of meetings in Syria between Ukrainians and members of the international terrorist organization Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.
The newspaper published a picture in which two people appeared, one of them wearing a shirt with a trident on his sleeve (the official Ukrainian emblem), and the other wearing a gray and blue protective military uniform. The newspaper stated that the footage it obtained was filmed in the city of Idlib, and dates back to June of this year.
On September 12, at a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions at a round table on Ukrainian issues, Lavrov said that Ukrainian intelligence envoys are actively recruiting Islamist fighters in Syria and Africa to carry out terrorist operations.
The Minister drew attention to the fact that the relevant Ukrainian bodies attracted Islamic extremists to prepare and carry out a terrorist attack in the Crocus Hall near Moscow.
