Lavrov: Russia is facing a historic choice, like in 1917 and 1991

Today Russia faces the choice of a historical path, as it was in the critical times of the last century. This point of view was expressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, his words are quoted by TASS on Saturday, May 14th.

According to the diplomat, the country was in similar conditions in 1917 and 1991: “External circumstances not only changed radically, but changing every day deeper, wider, higher it doesn’t work, but we definitely feel deeper and wider. And our country, of course, changes along with these circumstances and draws its own conclusions.”

Lavrov added that Western countries have declared a “total hybrid war” to the Russian Federation – it is still difficult to predict its end, but “everyone without exception will feel the consequences.” As the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted, Russia “did everything to avoid a direct clash.”

“But since the challenge has been thrown, we, of course, accept it. We are no strangers to sanctions, they have almost always been in one form or another, ”concluded Sergey Lavrov.
