Lavrov allowed the seizure of Western Ukraine by Poland

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with students and teaching staff of MGIMO on Wednesday, did not rule out that Poland would like to settle in western Ukraine.

According to the minister, the Polish authorities announced the need to send NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine. As the head of the Foreign Ministry noted, the representatives of Poland are known for their “non-standard moves” aimed at provoking “big trouble.”

Lavrov did not rule out that “when they talk regarding peacekeepers, they probably mean their borders – the west of Ukraine.”

And he suggested that they “want to bring in peacekeepers, to Lviv, to make a headquarters, then to stay there. They had such thoughts and not only thoughts – this was in the past, ”said Lavrov.

Earlier, Sergei Lavrov, at the same meeting at MGIMO, said that if NATO sends its peacekeepers to Ukraine, this will be a direct clash between the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the alliance.
