For its 20th edition, Lavaux Classic is offering around twenty concerts in Cully, Villette and Vevey until June 25. The opportunity to discover classical music in theaters, but also in more unusual places such as vineyards and gardens.
After the opening concert given Tuesday in Vevey by piano master Grigory Sokolov, it’s time for “Bach Mirror”, a musical project led by marimbist Vassilena Serafimova and pianist Thomas Enhco. These two artists will reinvent the music of Johann Sebastian Bach at the Temple of Cully on June 23.

In the other highlights of the first weekend, the day of June 18 will see a succession of numerous concerts in short format in the gardens of the Domaine Potterat in Cully. The public will notably be able to discover the multi-instrumentalist Alexandre Cellier, the clarinettist Simon Lopez, the young Bastet Trio (composed of three 13-year-old boys) or even the Camerata of the Instituto Superior de Música Esperanza Azteca.

The virtuoso and offbeat Berliners of the Vision String Quartet will launch the second weekend (June 22). Three recitals are also scheduled between Saturday and Sunday, those of cellist Samuel Niederhauser and pianist Alexander Malofeev (June 24) and that of Kevin Chen, young winner of the prestigious Geneva Competition (June 25).
To complete this program, five “off” evenings are organized in the gardens of the Potterat Estate, with, among other things, a live classic “blind test”, meetings of artists around rare vinyls or improvisations on the piano. For walkers who love music, the festival also offers walks to music and in the vineyard.
As a reminder, Lavaux Classic unfolds in three stages during the year, according to the rhythm of the vine. There is the Pruning in February (one day), the Flowering period in June (between one and two weeks) and the Harvest in October (two days).
