Laval Rocket's Newest Goalie: Kasimir Kaskisuo Signs with Pro Team

In recent days, the Laval Rocket signed goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo (a trial contract, but still).

Who is he? He’s a goalkeeper who was looking for a job, he who hasn’t played anywhere so far this year. He obviously found his chance with Laval in the short term, therefore.

He fills the need for an experienced goalkeeper on the Laval side, where the goalkeepers have been struggling since the start of the season.

We’re talking about a Finnish goalkeeper who worked his way around the United States and Canada for years. From 2021 to 2023, he went to play in Europe for Leksands, in Sweden.

But this year, he had nothing… and he was looking for a job. How do I know? Because he told his wife when she asked him if he was ready to face his new challenge.

In one of his videos, we see the preparation process behind a guy like him signing a PTO in the AHL. To simply “appear” overnight in the Rocket’s environment, there is mass preparation.

Not to mention the fact that he leaves his family behind.

Whether it’s images of training or of his departure for Quebec, he publishes content that is not necessarily usual from a pro player… but I like it. For what?

Because it takes us behind the scenes of hockey.

You will tell me that Kasimir Kaskisuo is perhaps not the player that fans will be most attached to in the history of the Rocket, but the player’s mentality is interesting for the public, all the same. He’s less conservative than other people in his sport, anyway.
