The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m., at the corner of Jaffa Street and Lisbon Boulevard, near Sainte-Rose Boulevard.
Two men in a white Range Rover fled following crashing into another vehicle. The driver of the Honda Civic that was hit has succumbed to his injuries.
The alleged passenger of the vehicle who committed the hit-and-run surrendered to the authorities. He was later released.
The driver, meanwhile, called 911 to get there; it would be a 25-year-old man.
He was arrested for hit-and-run causing death and hit-and-run causing bodily harm. He will appear Monday morning at the Laval courthouse.
If the police said Sunday that the victim was 38 years old, it would rather be a 75-year-old man.
