Pending the resumption of work at Lausanne station, the Municipality is working to reopen the site spaces to the public. After hosting an ice rink and the BDFIL festival, the Place de la Gare will host a “gravel court” this summer as well as occasional shows.
This land will be “ideal for games of pétanque with friends and family or with family”, pointed out in a press release Natacha Litzistorf, municipal councilor at the head of the Department of Housing, the Environment and Architecture.
In addition, a “climate pavilion” will offer an “island of freshness” to walkers on the so-called Place des Saugettes, to the south of the station.
Four events planned
Four events, including the Fête de la Musique, as well as comedy and improvisation shows, are planned for this summer on the Place de la Gare.
The list might go on since, as the Municipality specifies, “in recent months, the City’s Station Pole unit has received more than 30 project requests, currently under study, which suggest a return to school under the best auspices!”
