Lausanne: Major police intervention at Parc du Bourget: no injuries or shooters

The Lausanne police were alerted early Saturday evening to the existence of three gunshot wounds near Vidy. But this was false information. An investigation is underway.

Some 31 police officers were mobilized on Saturday at Parc du Bourget in Vidy.

Saturday, shortly before 6:30 p.m., the Lausanne police received a call from a person, alerting to three wounded by firearm in the Bourget park, in Vidy. A large deployment of police has therefore been put in place to ensure the security of the sector. A reader passing by informed us of the facts.

Contacted around 9 p.m., the police reported no injuries or no shooters. False information would have been transmitted to them.

“Everything quickly went back to normal. I understand that the people who were witnesses may have been impressed by this extraordinary intervention, but we cannot take the risk that the situation is real, ”says Anne-Sophie Gaudin, spokesperson for the Lausanne police. In total, some 31 officers were mobilized. An investigation is underway.
