Posted

A motorist multiplied the offenses last fall, while driving his private vehicle while intoxicated. He received the reprieve.

The professional driver was in a situation of qualified intoxication.

Vaud police

That night Gustavo* had been drinking. Around 2 a.m., driving his passenger vehicle, this TL bus driver struck three vehicles parked at the edge of the road during the fall of 2021 in the Bergières district, in Lausanne. Aware that his condition was incompatible with driving, the man did not stop. But two kilometers further, Gustavo dozed off at the wheel. His vehicle swerved, encroached on the sidewalk before coming to rest once morest a tree. Violent, the shock caused the deployment of the airbags. The driver’s blood alcohol level was 0.65 mg/l.

Stay granted

Prosecuted for simple violation of traffic rules, incapacity to drive, qualified blood alcohol level, attempt to obstruct measures to establish incapacity to drive and violation of obligations in the event of an accident, Gustavo risked a lot. But this experienced driver, whose clean criminal record is the reflection of a course so far impeccable, benefited from a sentence with a probationary period. He was recently sentenced by penal order to an 80-day fine of 60 francs suspended for 3 years. He was also fined 1,800 francs.
