Laurindo Viera’s alleged killers wanted to steal one million kwanzas – news

Three days following the death of sociologist and university professor Laurindo Vieira, the Criminal Investigation Service yesterday presented five citizens as presumed perpetrators, three of whom were directly involved in the crime. Among those detained is the person responsible for the deadly shooting, a 23-year-old young man, who says he got confused and was unable to steal the money the teacher had raised (one million Kz).

“Our intention was to take the victim’s money. The person who gave the clue was one of the members of the group who was not caught, called Ivan (who was inside the bank, in line). I fired the shot because I was scared, as you took out your gun and manipulated it in front of me”, these are the words of young Hélder Ricardo (in the photo, with his hand on the splint). Hélder said he had already found the assault team formed, he was the last one to enter, and that they had information that Professor Laurindo had just raised money, although he didn’t know exactly how much.

The gun belonged to “Camaro” or Ivan, he didn’t know the victim and he only found out who Laurindo Vieira was the next day, through social media. Why didn’t they take the money? “I didn’t take the money because following I fired the shot, I saw you bleeding, I was scared, I just took away his phone and gun. I was detained in Zango, following receiving a call from Raúl, asking us to meet to talk regarding the case.

Raúl was already at the scene with the police”, he says, who was unable to answer the motivations for the robbery, as he is not unemployed, he worked as a tiler, in addition to having completed training in the Fire Department. According to the SIC-General spokesperson, Manuel Halaiwa, all operational departments were committed to the investigation work to identify the accused who were presented to the press yesterday, Sunday, 14th, in the municipal command of Belas, located in Kilamba Centrality .

“Five elements were arrested, three of whom were directly involved in the criminal action, namely Hélder Ricardo, 23 years old, (author of the shooting), Adriano Júnior, 33 years old, (who had the mission of controlling, in the vehicle, citizens who were withdrawing money), Raúl Gayeta, 36 years old, (UGO driver who used the vehicle for criminal actions), Gelson Manaças, 33 years old, (bought the victim’s phone and resold it to his cousin – also detained)”, he said.

The investigation concluded that it was a criminal network made up of five elements, three of which are already detained (Hélder, Adriano and Raúl), who already have experience with the Police, so investigations continue with a view to locating and detaining the others. two. Manuel Halaiwa said that the arrest of these three elements made it possible to clarify five robberies in which they were involved. The two members of the group who are on the run are called “Camaro” or Ivan (the leader of the group) and Cabobo (the driver of the motorbike on the day of the robbery and death of the teacher).

How did these citizens act?

The criminals entered bank queues, carrying out all the operations that any customer can do in a banking institution, when, in fact, they were controlling the movements of other customers. After identifying the victims, they followed them and announced the robbery. “Regrettably, Professor Laurindo was the victim of one of these actions, when he was leaving one of Patriota’s bank branches, on a very busy road. He was approached by the criminals, who fired shots and stole his belongings. It was possible to recover the victim’s cell phone (Samsung A3) and a Macarov-type pistol (from the victim). We also seized a Toyota Avanza vehicle that was used as a support bridge for criminals”, he maintained.

Furthermore, regarding a robbery that took place in the same area of Patriota, where a criminal hit two victims, in December, the SIC said that investigations are ongoing so that, at an opportune moment, these citizens are arrested and presented to be held criminally responsible. . Manuel Halaiwa took advantage of the press microphones to offer, on behalf of the responding body, his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and promise that the SIC will do everything to arrest those involved.

“It was supposed to steal a million kwanzas”

He has a tattoo with the word “kills”, but said he never killed, justifying that the tattoo was poorly done. He is a member of the group and has participated in several similar robberies. This is Adriano Júnior, 33 years old, who at the time of the events received a call from the young “Camaro” or Ivan, saying they were going out together. As soon as they met, already inside the uGO car, with Raúl (whom he knows), “Camaro” said that that day “they would go for a spin”.

Despite feeling unwell that day, as one of his legs was inflamed, he agreed to “take it for a spin” with “Camaro” and Raúl. In Patriota, close to the BIC bank, the scheme was already in place, with the motorcycle men in position. “Camaro” entered the bank, identified the victim, got into the car, called Hélder, also known as “Pambala”, to be prepared. “As soon as you left, we parked the car in a safe place, and the man responsible for the attack (Pambala) followed.

We, despite being far away, saw the movement. Then the men on the motorcycle came back, and Pambala brought the man’s phone and gun. We were scolding him for shooting you and not bringing the money. He replied that you had reacted”, he says. The criminals learned how much would be stolen through the withdrawal slip that was in the victim’s briefcase. “It was one million kwanzas, but Pambala said he was scared when he saw you on the ground, following the shooting, and he didn’t have time to take out the money that was already in the car. We only sold the phone for 60 thousand kz, to my cousin”, he said.

A driver with the mission of transporting the group

Raúl Gayeta, the uGO driver, has worked for this company for three months, but has already participated in five robberies with the group he belongs to. His job is to transport the group leader, “Camaro” or Ivan, who lives in Cacuaco, and other members of the group. He is only told that “they are going to walk a little” and, on this walk, the other members appear, who are normally already informed regarding the scheme (assault). “Before the robbery, everyone stays in the car and following the “Camaro” sees a prey, he orders the car to stop and lets Pambala act. The only one who is armed is the person who goes looking for the money”, he said, who was unable to quantify what he receives in each robbery, claiming that the person who brings the money never gives the exact value.
