“Hard to swallow for those who make this channel every day…” murmurs a “familiar face from the antenna”. Laurent Ruquier, who took charge at the end of September of a new daily show on BFM TVnegotiated a salary much higher than the other hosts of the continuous news channel, indicates Tele-Leisure.
The former leading face of France Televisions would earn between 25,000 and 30,000 euros per month, excluding the annual antenna bonus which amounts to five figures and the amount of which varies depending on the contract.
For comparison, a “sideline” presenter – excluding “stars” like Bruce Toussaint or Maxime Switek” would pocket between 5,000 and 6,000 euros, compared to 2,500 euros for a beginner journalist.
