To “get out of the rut” in which the left is stuck, Sandrine Rousseau proposed on BFMTV “a ticket” Huguette Bello-Laurence Tubiana for Matignon. In vain, the former, faced with the socialist refusal, withdrew last week. The latter, although “ready to defend the ideas and proposals” of the New Popular Front, announced this Monday morning that she acknowledged “the opposition” to her candidacy – LFI vetoed her profile -, which could not lead to “the appeasement that we so badly need”. She is therefore withdrawing in turn from the race for the post of Prime Minister.
Two weeks after the second round of the legislative elections, which saw the NFP become the leading force in the Palais-Bourbon, and negotiations to submit a name for Prime Minister to Emmanuel Macron which are biting their tails, the left finds itself more bogged down than ever.
